What would you do? Our Senior Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python based API services and PHP-based applications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining scalable web applications, enhancing system performance and ensuring security and performance across distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience as a full stack developer with a deep understanding of designing and implementing microservices architectures.

What would you do? Our Senior Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python based API services and PHP-based applications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining scalable web applications, enhancing system performance and ensuring security and performance across distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience as a full stack developer with a deep understanding of designing and implementing microservices architectures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Python based API services and PHP-based applications
- Architect and implement microservices using Docker and containerized environments
- Work with Vanilla PHP and MVC frameworks like Zend/Laravel to build and maintain scalable web applications
- Enhance system performance using caching mechanisms (REDIS/ElastiCache) for optimized data access
- Utilize ElasticSearch for time-series data processing, fast search capabilities, and writing queries and aggregations
- Implement message queues for efficient asynchronous processing
- Develop interactive user interfaces using JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
- Ensure security, scalability, and performance of applications across distributed systems
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the stack
Knowledge and Experience:

- 5+ years of professional experience as a Full stack Developer
- Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI/FlaskApi) and PHP (Vanilla PHP & MVC frameworks like Zend, Laravel,or CodeIgniter)
- Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures
- Proficiency in Docker and container orchestration
- Knowledge of caching strategies (e.g., Redis, Memcached, ElastiCache)
- Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch for search and analytics
- Experience working with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Strong frontend skills with Vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
- Expertise in Python Celery for distributed task processing
- Expertise in WebSockets for real-time communication
- Experience with implementing SAML IDP integration with JIT
- Understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, and security best practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Work onsite a minimum of 2x per week in our Ottawa office
